Your Questions Answered

Community nursing services provide professional healthcare support delivered in your home or community setting. These services are designed to support your ongoing health, independence, and wellbeing without the need for frequent hospital visits. This can include wound and pressure care, medication management, continence support, chronic disease monitoring, diabetes care, and post-hospital recovery support.

Community nursing is available to individuals with disability, chronic health conditions, complex health needs, or those recovering from surgery or illness. NDIS participants who have approved funding for health or personal care supports can access these services as part of their plan. Eligibility is based on assessed needs and goals outlined in your NDIS plan.

Community Nursing assistance under the NDIS is funded through Core Supports (Assistance with Daily Life). This covers ongoing clinical care provided by a nurse, such as wound care, medication support, continence care, and other health-related assistance required in daily living.

Community nursing services cover a wide range of clinical and personal care supports delivered in the home. These may include wound care and dressing changes, diabetes monitoring and management, medication administration and supervision, catheter and stoma care, chronic condition management, health assessments, and palliative or post-operative care. Services are tailored to your individual needs and clinical requirements.

Yes. Community nursing services are provided by fully qualified registered nurses (RNs) or enrolled nurses (ENs) who are trained to deliver safe, evidence-based care. They operate under strict clinical guidelines, professional standards, and NDIS quality requirements to ensure your care is delivered safely, respectfully, and ethically at all times.

The frequency of nursing visits depends entirely on your individual care needs and clinical requirements. Some participants may require daily visits for complex care needs, while others may only need weekly, fortnightly, or occasional support. Your care plan is regularly reviewed to ensure the level of support continues to match your health needs.

Yes. Community nurses work as part of your broader healthcare team and regularly communicate with your GP, specialists, and allied health professionals. This ensures your care is well-coordinated, up to date, and consistent with your medical treatment plan. It also helps prevent gaps in care and improves overall health outcomes.

Choosing a registered NDIS provider ensures you receive care that meets strict national quality and safety standards. You benefit from qualified nursing staff, compliant service delivery, accurate documentation, and coordinated support aligned with your NDIS plan. It also ensures accountability, transparency, and reliable communication between all your support services.
